Anas El Fali

ECE Master's Student — Telecommunications Networks | Systems & Controls Engineering

Engineering graduate with a broad, ABET-accredited foundation, now specialising in telecommunications networks at Concordia. I am drawn to work where systems, controls and networked infrastructure meet — project and systems engineering, control systems, R&D and semiconductors.

About

Engineering across systems, not just networks

I am a Master of Engineering student in Electrical & Computer Engineering at Concordia University in Montreal, concentrating in telecommunications networks, with an expected graduation of December 2026.

Before that I completed an ABET-accredited Bachelor of Engineering in General Engineering at Al Akhawayn University in Morocco. It was a deliberately broad programme, spanning electrical, mechanical, control and computer engineering rather than a single track, and that breadth is still how I approach problems.

Since October 2025 I have worked part-time as a Project Support Analyst at ANDRITZ Hydropower North America in Pointe-Claire, supporting commercial and project-management work on hydropower rehabilitation projects and building the dashboards and reporting tools those projects run on.

My interests sit where systems, controls and networked infrastructure meet: systems and project engineering, control systems, R&D and the semiconductor industry. I am internationally minded and open to relocating for the right role.

Blockchain-Enabled Edge Computing and Sensor Integration for IoT-based Smart Grid Systems – Implementation and Energy Management: Morocco Case Study

2023 7th IEEE Congress on Information Science and Technology (CiSt) · Co-author

Co-authored IEEE publication on pushing blockchain-based trust and coordination to the edge of the power distribution network. The work looks at how distributed ledgers and edge compute nodes can jointly handle metering, verification and settlement close to where energy is produced and consumed, instead of routing everything through a central utility back end. My contribution centred on the distributed-systems side: how the edge layer is organised, and the latency and trust trade-offs that follow.

Predictive QoS-Aware Flow Control for UAV Command Channels

Author

An unmanned aerial vehicle's command-and-control channel is latency-sensitive in a way ordinary traffic is not: a late control packet is effectively a lost one, and queueing delay on a shared wireless link is what usually causes it. This project treats the problem as a control problem rather than a pure scheduling one, predicting short-horizon link and queue conditions and shaping the command flow ahead of congestion instead of reacting after delay has already appeared. The aim is to hold command-channel latency inside its deadline while leaving capacity for lower-priority telemetry and payload traffic.
